Epithalon
Epithalon (also commonly known as Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide compound composed of four amino acids.
Epithalon's Main Efficacy and Mechanism of Action • Telomerase Activation: By binding to the promoter region of telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT), it upregulates telomerase activity, theoretically extending telomere length. • Anti-aging and Antioxidant Effects: It possesses anti-aging (geroprotective) properties, scavenging free radicals and inhibiting cell damage caused by oxidative stress. • Melatonin Regulation and Sleep Improvement: It can regulate pineal gland function, improve melatonin secretion, regularize circadian rhythms, and enhance sleep's restorative effects. • Neuroprotection and Retinal Protection: Animal studies show that intranasal administration and other methods can increase neuronal activity, potentially showing research value for retinal degenerative diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa. • Tumor Inhibition: In some spontaneous tumor experiments in mice, it has been observed to have a certain inhibitory effect on tumor development. • Immune Support: In some longevity medicine studies, it is believed to enhance the body's immune function.
